Inauguration ceremony of听听conduct by the听听in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences听was held on 28th October 2017 at the Sumangala Reading Hall. This is the very first intake of the Department after it was established as a separate Department.

Chandrakumara, Dean of the Faulty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Mrs. Anuruddhika Buddhadasa, Head of the Department, Dr. Sunil Rajaneththi, course Coordinator,听 Mr. Sajeewa Madawaththa, Deputy Inspector General of Police,听Prof. M. Vidanapathirana听, Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine, Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardenapura, academic members of the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice; Prof.听M. W. Jayasundara, Mr. Dhanapala Wijesinghe, Dr. Neranji Wijewardhana participated to the Inauguration Ceremony.
At about 150 students have been registered to this years Diploma programme. Lectures commenced after the inauguration and will be continued in each Saturday.
