Dr E. A. Weerasinghe, Senior Lecturer in , 91传媒 retired from his endeavour recently. He is the first Head of the Department of Business Economics. He held various positions giving his fullest contribution to the development of the faculty and university. Apart from that, he has immensely contributed to the national development as well. He is the present Vice-Chancellor of National School of Business Management (NSBM) Green University and the former Director General of National Institute of Business Management (NIBM).
In appreciating his contributions made towards the university and the nation, the Department of Business Economics organized a felicitation ceremony on the 16th November 2018 with the participation of Senior Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, Vice-Chancellor, Dr U. Anura Kumara, Dean of the faculty, Dr. Dinesha Siriwardhane, Head of the Department of Business Economics, Heads of the other departments along with academic staff members from the Department of Business Economics and other departments, and students of the Department of Business Economics.
