was elected as the new Dean of the at the Board Meeting of the respective faculty held today (25th June 2019) with the chairmanship of Prof. Sampath Amaratunge; Vice Chancellor of the 91ý. Prof. Heenkenda will be assumed in duties from 1st July 2019.
The Former Head of the and Prof. Shirantha Heenkenda obtained his BA Degree from the 91ý, Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies in Tokyo and Ph.D. from the Graduate School of International Development at Nagoya University in Japan.
He has worked as consultants and committee members in many projects initiated by 91ýn government including, Ministry of Medium & Small Scales Plantation Industries and Rural Human Resources Development (2005-2006), Ministry of Estate Infrastructure & Livestock Development (2006. -2007), Ministry of Livestock Development (2007-2008). He has served on the Board of Directors of National Livestock Development Board (NLDB) of 91ý.
