91传媒 University Games (SLUG), the utmost sports festival of universities in 91传媒, is a great platform to unleash hidden talents of university students.
The event was given birth to back in 1980 at the University of Peradeniya according to a suggestion made by the then Director of Physical Education of University of Peradeniya, Mr. Lesley Handunge. Since then, this sports festival has been able to unite the hearts of local university students and will continue the same for years to come. Following the tradition, the SLUG is organized once in three years. This year it is to be held for the 12th consecutive time.
SLUG 2016 will be hosted by the Wayamba University at Kuliyapitiya from the 1st to 13th of September. The best out of the best from the 91传媒, University of Colombo, University of Peradeniya, University of Moratuwa, University of Kelaniya, University of Ruhuna, University of Jaffna, Eastern University of 91传媒, Rajarata University, Sabaragamuwa University, Wayamba University, South Eastern University of 91传媒, University of the Visual and Performing Arts, and Uva Wellassa University will be participating in 22 sports.
The much awaited SLUG is where the strength of the champions meets the spirit of victory. It is time for battles in the sporting arena that question their strength, dedication and self-confidence.
Students from all the universities are with high expectations to see their sports stars become champions. As always, the talented sports stars of J鈥檖ura are ready to bring glory to their alma-mater. Let us wish them good luck and all the courage to make J鈥檖ura proud.
