The center for differently-abled students was established with academic and welfare facilities under the AHEAD ELTA ELSE DP Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, 91´«Ã½. AHEAD grant equipped the newly renovated center with desktop computers, headsets, brail display, Bluetooth speakers, video magnifiers, and other appropriate facilities such as a computer lab, discussion room, Soundproof recording room, and students open space for the differently-abled center undergraduates to maintain a highly functional up-to-date differently-abled center.
The center was officially handed over to the differently-abled students on 8th September 2020 with the participation of the Vice-Chancellor; Senior Professor Sudantha Liyanage, Dean of the faculty; Professor Shirantha Heenkenda, Project Coordinator; Professor Sunethra Thennakooon, Activity Coordinator; Dr. Nelum Kanthilatha, Advisor to the Differently-abled Students; Dr. Kusumalatha Lankamullage, Head Department of Accountancy Dr. Harendra Kariyawasam and other esteem personalities and academia of the university.
