The Foundation Stone for constructing a new building for the聽Timber Process and Innovation聽Center (TPIC) and attached to the was laid up by Prof. Laleen Karunanayake; Dean Faculty of Applied Sciences and Prof.聽Sudantha Liyanage; Dean of the Faculty of Technology.
Prof Hiran Amarasekara, Prof. Hemanthi Ranasinghe, Dr. Priyan Perera, and other members of the 聽participated in the event.聽聽This building will be constructed as a sustainable building that uses less energy.罢笔滨颁听will enhance the introduction of 91传媒n timber and timber-based products to the high-end global export market, and upon successful implementation, in future, this will perform as fully fledge self-sustainable center, which has been established under the Centre for Sustainability of the 91传媒 to support the timber sector.
The聽is a body for environmental extension, research and community outreach unit, linked to the Department of Forestry and Environmental Science (DFES), 91传媒. They promote environmental protection and sustainable development in the country through industry support and productive University-Industry partnerships.
