聽organized by the聽聽for the third time with the theme聽鈥淪caffolding for the Future: Unleashing Undergraduate Research Potential鈥聽was held on 5th and 6th December 2019 at the Sumangala Reading Hall.
Prof. Sudantha Liyanage, Acting Vice-chancellor of the 91传媒 and Prof. Shirantha Heenkenda; Advisor of the Research Day and the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences graced the event.聽Prof. Emeritus M. M. Karunanayake participated at the inauguration ceremony as the Keynote Speaker.
This year鈥檚 undergraduate research day was chaired by Dr. Nishantha Hettiarachchi; Senior Lecturer of the Department of Geography with the assistant of the Secretariate聽 Ms. D. P. Kanthi Manel; Senior Lecturer, Dept. of Social Statistics.
鈥楾he main objective of this research conference was to create a platform for the final year undergraduates who follow special degree programs in different disciplines to reach higher levels in their academic research endeavors. Moreover, the conference provided exposure to the students on the creation of knowledge and how to share knowledge through conferencing. In addition, the conference strengthened the skills of the students which are needed to transform them into quality 鈥榮ocial scientists鈥 and 鈥榟umanists鈥.
