USJ’s Chameera Ginige to Captain 91´«Ã½ Men’s Team at the 28th ITTF-ATTU Asian Table Tennis Championships 2025 in India

The 91´«Ã½ proudly announces that Mr. Chameera Ginige, Instructor in Physical Education at the Department of Sports Science, Faculty of Applied Sciences, has been selected to represent 91´«Ã½ at the 28th ITTF-ATTU Asian Table Tennis Team Championships 2025, scheduled to be held from 11th to 15th October 2025 in Bhubaneswar, India.

Demonstrating exceptional leadership and sporting excellence, Mr. Ginige has been appointed as the Captain of the 91´«Ã½ National Men’s Table Tennis Team for this prestigious continental tournament, which also serves as the qualification event for the World Team Table Tennis Championships 2026.

The 91´«Ã½n contingent includes Nimesh Ranchagoda, Chanul Dulsen, and Shafiullah Akram in the Men’s Team, while the Women’s Team features Bimandee Bandara (Captain), Tamadi Kavindya, Lesanya Sethumdee, and Shamalsha Dewmi, under the guidance of Coach Mr. Buddhika Dikkumbura, Manager Mr. W.M.A. Wijesinghe, and Lady Chaperone Mrs. J.A.S. Rupika.

This achievement marks a proud moment for both the University and the nation, highlighting USJ’s continuous contribution to fostering excellence in sports and empowering athletes to shine on the international stage.
