The medical session at the 8th International Research Conference, organized by General Sir John Kothalawala Defence University, scored another significant achievement . The Best Research Poster Award and the Best Research Paper Award were both won by presentations from J’pura.
The research poster by Dr.Sampatha Goonewardena, Senior Lecturer , Department of Community Medicine, Faculty of Medical Sciences and N.M.C.L. Nissanka won the best poster award. Their poster was named 鈥淔actors Associated with the Knowledge on Antenatal Care in Selected Medical Officer of Health Areas in Anuradhapura District鈥�. At the same time Prof.S.Ekanayake, Professor in Biochemistry and Prof.K.Samarasinghe, Associate Professor in Pathology together with H.M.K. Akalanka, were able to win the best paper award for their entry. Their paper was titled 聽鈥淐an sex hormone concentrations predict Her2 status of postmenopausal breast cancer patients?鈥�.
The event was held on 27th and 28th August 2015.
