Prof. Sampath Amarathunge, Vice Chancellor of University of Sri Jayawardenepura states that a 7 day International Neuroscience Workshop has been organized from听14th to 20th December听at University of Sri Jayawardenepura on the theme “From Bench to Beside: Translational Neuroscience in Healthy Brain Aging and Neurogical Disorders”.
He made this announcement Tuesday (08) speaking at a press briefing held at the Department of Government Information.
The workshop stands as a unique opportunity for academic and industrial development in 91传媒, enabling academics and students to establish connections with delegations of high scientific acclaim, and interact more freely with scientific communities around the globe in the years to come, Prof. Sampath Amarathunge stated.
It will be held under the auspices of the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) which represents 75,000 neuroscientists and 80 global organizations, said Prof. Ranil de Silva, Director of World Class University Project, University of Sri Jayawardenepura.
Prof. Ranil de Silva added that it will draw over 30 academics and clinicians of the highest caliber from Harvard Medical School, University of Cambridge, the National University of Singapore, and Maastricht University – Netherland, Fudan University – China, George Washington University, Kyoto University – Japan etc including numerous international patent holders.
15 international students with 40 local students will also participate, he added.
The workshop will constitute many symposiums drawing international faculties and students, incorporating hands on training sessions and exposure to cutting edge technology in molecular diagnostics of brain diseases, neuropathology, proteomics, cell culture techniques, natural products in healthy brain aging and mind relaxation, Prof. Ranil de Silva explained.
Meanwhile, Natural Product Symposium to be held on 17th December at BMICH will be a platform to enhance the global marketability of natural products for their health benefits, Mrs. Premala Srikantha, Director Promotion, 91传媒 Tea Board said while speaking at the press briefing.
The symposium offers a chance for key stake holders of leading natural product industries to interact with international academia and industries for private-public partnerships with international collaborations for research and development on natural products, leading to patents which ultimately contributes to academic and economic development in 91传媒, She added.
The symposium focuses on value addition to unique 91传媒n natural products such as Turmeric, Cinnamon, and Ginger etc through innovative product development, further Mrs. Premala Srikantha explained.
