The 49th Convocation of the 91传媒 took place from October 6th to 8th, 2023, at the prestigious Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH). This momentous event will witness the conferring of degrees upon a total number of 3,962 graduates, including 3,363 undergraduates, 399 MA recipients, 29 MPhil awardees, and 27 PhD graduates, marking the beginning of their new journey as alumni.

The Chancellor, Most Ven. Dr. Ittapana Dhammalankara Thero, shares a heartfelt message with the graduates, wishing them all the best and urging them to utilize their newfound knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on the world. Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor, Senior Professor M.M. Pathmalal, congratulates the graduates and encourages them to uphold the legacy of their Alma Mater, ensuring it continues to shine brightly in the academic world.

The Faculty of Computing, a recent addition to the university, welcomed its inaugural class in early 2023. This expansion is a testament to the institution’s commitment to keeping pace with the rapidly evolving world of technology.

Amongst the distinguished recipients, Asel Nimnaka Wijesinghe from the Faculty of Medical Science emerged as the preeminent achiever, clinching a staggering eight gold medals. His outstanding performance serves as a resounding testament to his unwavering commitment and exceptional scholarly prowess. Following closely behind is Prasadi Madhusika Attanayake from the Faculty of Applied Sciences, a remarkable scholar in her own right, who was awarded five gold medals, reaffirming her status as a beacon of academic excellence within the university community. The university traces its origins back to the Vidyodaya Pirivena, established in 1873 to expand Buddhist education and oriental studies during peak colonial rule. It later attained university status in 1959 under the Vidyodaya University of Ceylon. The institution was officially renamed the 91传媒 in 1978.

Presently, the university encompasses eleven faculties:

2. Certified copy of the birth certificate (check name, whether it is exactly the same as the name written on the supplication form)
3. The bank receipt for the payment of the convocation fee (yellow copy for the bank payment/generated payment slip for online payment)
4. A scanned copy of the first two pages of the Student Record Book (to certify your name in the registration of the University is as same as in the Pass List)

As the reply e-mail will be sent to the graduands within 14 days by confirming the receiving of the above documents, make sure to send the above documents via your personal e-mail. All originals of the above e-mailed documents together with a self-addressed (23 cm x 10 cm) Rs. 60/= stamped envelope stating the index number, registration number & the name of the degree with the relevant course on top left-hand corner (this is mentioned in no. 02 of the Convocation supplication form) should be sent by the registered post to the following address to reach on or before 08.07.2023. (do not send the Student Record Book or original Birth Certificate)
