Part 2: Job Summary

In the context of the FMSC’s multipurpose building complex, the interior design must align with the faculty’s educational objectives and accommodate the diverse needs of its stakeholders. From classrooms and lecture halls to administrative offices and communal spaces, each area requires careful consideration to ensure optimal functionality and user satisfaction

Part 3: Main Duties

The responsibilities of the interior designer will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Collaborating with faculty members and stakeholders to understand their needs, preferences, and requirements for the multipurpose building complex.
  2. Developing innovative and functional interior design concepts that enhance the learning environment, promote collaboration, and reflect the FMSC’s identity and values.
  3. Conducting site visits and assessments to evaluate existing facilities and identify opportunities for improvement and enhancement.
  4. Managing the procurement process, including sourcing furniture, fixtures, equipment, and materials, negotiating contracts and pricing, and coordinating delivery and installation.
  5. Providing design expertise and guidance to faculty members to help them finalize furniture requirements and make informed decisions regarding interior furnishings and finishes. 6. Working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that the interior design aligns with the overall building design and construction schedule.
  6. Monitoring project progress, identifying and addressing any design-related issues or challenges, and ensuring that the interior spaces meet quality standards and specifications.
  7. Communicating regularly with faculty members, administrators, and project stakeholders to keep them informed of project developments, solicit feedback, and address any concerns or questions.

By providing the interior designer with a dedicated workspace within the faculty premises and clearly defining their responsibilities, the FMSC can ensure that the designer has the resources and support needed to successfully execute their role and contribute to the successful completion of the multipurpose building complex project.

Part 4: Qualification

Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.) or Bachelor of Design (B. Des), or Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng) or BSc. in Interior Design

Part 5: Experience / Knowledge

One-year experience in interior design projects

Part 6: Skills

Project Management Skills

Communication Skills

Part 7: Working Conditions

Fixed term contract – Initially four months (renewable).

5 days per week, including weekends.

Should be prepared to work for long hours.

Part 8: Salary

Rs. 75,000/- per month (all inclusive).
