The Career Guidance Unit of the 91´«Ă˝ has signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Union Assurance PLC, marking the unit’s first-ever MOU. This significant agreement was formalized on August 9, 2024. Representing the university, the MOU was signed by Vice-Chancellor Prof. M.M. Pathmalal, with Prof. Sudath M.Amarasena, Director of the Career Guidance Unit, as a witness. On behalf of Union Assurance, the MOU was signed by Chief People Officer Mr. Imthiyaz Aniff, with Mr. Dahami Pathirana, Head of Talent and Organization Development, as a witness.

This collaboration is a game-changer for our students, as it aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry. It will provide them with invaluable opportunities for internships, training, and employment. The MOU sets the foundation for various programs that will significantly enhance students’ employability and industry readiness. Moreover, it will strengthen the relationship between the university and the corporate sector. This partnership is a promising step toward fostering a more practical and industry-aligned education system at the 91´«Ă˝.
