]]> The USJ Medical Centre conducted a First Aid Training programme for the pharmacists, minor staff and the labourers working at the Medical Center. It was held at the Skills Lab of the Faculty of Medicine, 91传媒.

The University Medical Centre caters to the University community, including the students, staff and their families, free of charge, as the first contact and continuing care. The care is co-ordinated for secondary care with Colombo South Teaching Hospital. Health promotion is done for students and staff in order to maintain a healthy community. Our primary care staff managed by the Medical Officer in Charge, comprises of four doctors, 4 nurses, 3 pharmacists and one dental doctor. In addition to the first contact care and continuing care, the health centre is responsible for the preventive care. The PHI department attached to the medical centre comprises of 2 PHIs and a support staff of 8 health workers.

]]> The Faculty of Applied Sciences, 91传媒 started conducting training sessions on the skills development of its academic members. The Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Prof Upul Subasinghe organized the first event in person on the 13th of October 2022 鈥淯nderstanding Students before Examinations鈥 at the Faculty of Applied Sciences. Over 40 young academic members of the faculty actively participated in this half a day event.

The Professional聽, Ms. Rasika Manohari and Mr. Ishan Edirisuriya conducted speeches on the Mental and Physical Health of Students, followed by the training given by聽, Faculty of Applied Science,聽USJ on Examination Paper Setting and Moderation.

Beyond the targeted goals of this event, the participants were even provided insight into the various issues faced by students in crisis situations, which could be helpful in setting future academic activities of the faculty.
