Master of Entrepreneurship (M.Entr.) programs will be conducted in English with brief explanations in Sinhala and papers will be given only in English.

Entry Qualifications

• A Special Bachelor鈥檚 Degree with a Class or General Bachelor鈥檚 Degree with a First Class or Second Class (Upper Division) from a recognized University with 2 years of relevant experience.
• A Bachelor鈥檚 Degree from a recognized University and 3 years executive or managerial level experience.
• Postgraduate Diploma or a Higher Degree from a recognized University with 2 years of relevant experience
• Completion of NVQ level 7.
• A professional qualification approved by the Senate of the University.

The at the 91传媒 welcomed its new intake with an inauguration ceremony of the orientation program on January 29, 2024. The ceremony was held at the Bandarayake Hall of the University and was attended by the Vice Chancellor of the 91传媒; Senior Prof. Pathmalal M. Manage, the Registrar of the 91传媒; Mr.A.B. Weliwita, the Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce; Dr. Dushan Jayawickrama; and Deans of other faculties, Heads of Departments, as well as the academic members of the faculty.

The event was designed to provide an introduction to the university and the faculty for new students. Vice Chancellor, Senior Prof. Pathmalal M. Manage, along with Dean, Dr. Dushan Jayawickrama, addressed the students, sharing insights on the current context of the faculty and the manner in which the faculty and students must move forward with progressive technology to further improve their university lives.

The program gives students an opportunity to learn about the university and the faculty. The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce looks forward to welcoming its new intake and is excited about the journey ahead.

The inauguration ceremony of the orientation programme will be held on 29^th January 2024, at the Bandaranayke Hall of the 91传媒 from 8.00 a.m. onwards.

The orientation programme provides a unique opportunity for you to learn about FMSC鈥檚 academic opportunities while getting to know your new batch mates. This programme aims to cover practical aspects pertaining to living and studying in the University and the Faculty so that you can be ready to begin your studies with confidence.

Moreover, the programme will include an introduction to the university, the faculty, and the facilities available for students. J鈥橮URA EXPO 2023 is a visionary initiative of the at the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, 91传媒 that comprises a series of events designed to support the growth of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in 91传媒.

The Inauguration Ceremony and the Industry Forum of J’PURA EXPO 2023 themed 鈥淣avigating Growth: Elevating Export Competitiveness鈥� will be held from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm on the 14th of December 2023 at the Sri Sumangala Auditorium, 91传媒.

This forum will feature a distinguished panel, including the participation of prominent figures, Mrs. J.M. Thilaka Jayasundara (Secretary, Ministry of Industries), Dr. Kingsley Bernard (Chairman and CEO, 91传媒 Export Development Board), Mr. Sudattha Silva (Additional Director General, 91传媒 Customs), Mr. Sarath Ganegoda (Executive Director, Hayleys PLC), and Ms. Taniya S. Abeysundara (President, 91传媒n United Business Association and Ceylon United Businesses Alliance) to discuss strategies for enhancing 91传媒鈥檚 export competitiveness. Prof. Sumudu Perera (Department of Business Economics, 91传媒) will serve as the moderator for the forum.

Additionally, the book ‘Guide of Financing Export-oriented SMEs,’ published by the Department of Business Economics, will be officially launched during the Inauguration Ceremony.

During the second phase, an exhibition of products from export-oriented SMEs is scheduled for the 17th of December 2023 at the BMICH premises. Additionally, SMEs will receive guidance at the Exporters’ Hub from representatives of various esteemed organizations including the Embassy of 91传媒 in Japan, Ministry of Industries, Department of Commerce, 91传媒 Export Development Board, Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in 91传媒 (AHK 91传媒), marketing experts, and food technologists.

On the same day, SMEs will have the opportunity to gain essential knowledge for successfully entering and expanding into international markets through effective e-commerce strategies and the utilization of social media tools in the workshop titled ‘Empowering SMEs to E-Platforms.鈥� Additionally, an awareness session titled ‘Safe Labor Migration’ will be conducted by representatives from the Embassy of 91传媒 in Japan, the International Labour Organization, the International Organization for Migration, and the Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment. The session aims to educate participants about foreign employment opportunities and provide guidance on safe migration procedures.

In a pivotal two-day event, the Central Bank of 91传媒 played host to a workshop focused on 鈥淭he Role of the Central Bank of 91传媒鈥� for 4th-year students of the at the 91传媒. Held at the Centre for Banking Studies on November 2 and 3, 2023, the workshop aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the vital role the Central Bank plays in shaping the economic landscape of 91传媒. Spearheaded by Dr. P.S.J. Fernondo, Head of the Department of Business Economics, along with Dr. M.P.K. Withanwasam and Ms. D.M.D.C. Sandamali, this program has been a continued success for the past 10 years.

The workshop featured an impressive lineup of resource persons, each an expert in their respective fields within the Central Bank of 91传媒. The diverse range of speakers brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the students, offering insights into various aspects of the Central Bank鈥檚 functions.

Day 01 鈥� Thursday, 02 November:

Ms. F A Hassim, Senior Assistant Director, Bank Supervision Department: Ms. Hassim shared her expertise on bank supervision, shedding light on the critical role the Central Bank plays in ensuring the stability of the banking sector.

Mr. A. A. Pradeep, Senior Assistant Director, Supervision of Non-Bank Financial Institutions Department: Mr. Pradeep delved into the supervision of non-bank financial institutions, emphasizing the regulatory measures in place to safeguard the financial system.

Dr. K Ambagahawita, Deputy Director, Payments & Settlements Department: Dr. Ambagahawita provided valuable insights into the intricacies of payments and settlements, highlighting the Central Bank鈥檚 pivotal role in maintaining a robust financial infrastructure.

Mr. D P D Senaratne, Assistant Director, Payments & Settlements Department: Mr. Senaratne complemented the discussion by focusing on the practical aspects of payments and settlements, offering a real-world perspective to the students.

Day 02 鈥� Friday, 03 November:

Mrs. Y N W Ranatunga, Deputy Director, International Operations Department: Mrs. Ranatunga shed light on the international operations of the Central Bank, emphasizing its role in managing foreign exchange reserves and ensuring stability in international financial transactions.

Dr. V S Jayawikrema, Senior Economist, Economic Research Department: Dr. Jayawikrema delved into economic research, providing students with an understanding of how the Central Bank analyzes economic trends and formulates policies.

Mr. P M K Weerasinghe, Deputy Superintendent, Currency Department: Mr. Weerasinghe focused on the currency department, discussing the intricacies of currency management and the measures taken by the Central Bank to ensure the stability of the country鈥檚 currency.

Mrs. W.G.E. Nilmini, Assistant Director, Financial Intelligence Unit: Mrs. Nilmini enlightened students on the role of the Financial Intelligence Unit, emphasizing the importance of financial intelligence in combating financial crimes.

Mrs. Hiruni Chamodi, Assistant Director at the Centre for Banking Studies, Central Bank of 91传媒, played a pivotal role as the course coordinator. Her efforts were instrumental in organizing this insightful workshop, ensuring that students received a well-rounded and enriching learning experience.
