]]> A special seminar on ‘South Asian Fiscal Policy’ was organized by the Department of Business Economics together with The World Bank – 91ý. The seminar was held on the 16th of May 2016, at the University premises. The guest speaker of the seminar was Mr. Ralph van Doorn who is the Senior Country Economist of World Bank for 91ý and Maldives. His work at World Bank focuses on analyzing macroeconomic developments and the drivers of growth, and providing technical assistance to the government, with a specific focus on fiscal policy and public debt management.

This seminar was mainly targeted at the undergraduates of the Department of Business Economics, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, 91ý. Students of all the three batches took part in this and received exposure to the applications of Economics in the real world. The seminar was followed by a questions and answer session.
