The 91传媒 held a donation event on July 31, 2024, at the Sumangala Auditorium, where a new ambulance was gifted to the university. The event, conducted by the Alumni Association of USJ, began with the arrival of guests, followed by an opening speech from Snr Prof. Pathmalal Manage, Vice Chancellor of the university. Traditional dances and speeches from notable figures, including Snr Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, Chairman of the University Grants Commission, and Prof. Ajantha Herath, President of the Herath Foundation in Japan, highlighted the ceremony.

His Excellency Mr. Mizukoshi Hideaki, Ambassador of Japan to 91传媒, and Prof. Samantha Thelijjagoda, Chairman of the Herath Foundation in 91传媒, also delivered speeches. The event concluded with the formal handing over of the ambulance key and nebulizers, followed by a show of appreciation and a performance featuring 91传媒n traditional drums.

The Department of Finance embarked on the annual field study tour to Ihalagalagama, Belihuloya, Balangoda on 24^th and 25^th September 2015. As a part of the field trip we launched the annual CSR project 鈥淪nehadara鈥� at Ihalagalagama Vidyalaya, Ihalagalagama, Balangoda on 24^th September 2015. The project was launched by the 02^nd year students of the Department of Finance with the assistance of the 03^rd and 04^th year students of the Department. They launched the project under the guidance of the head of the Department of Finance, Prof. Hareendra Dissabandara, Prof. Y.K. Weerakoon, Mr. S.D.L. Kongahawatte, and Ms. U.G. Kaushalya. Principal, members of the staff and parents of all the students of Ihalagalagama Vidyalaya and Zonal director of education participated in the event. The event was decorated by the stage performance of the students of the school. Prof. Hareendra Dissabandara and Prof. Y.K. Weerakoon addressed the gathering emphasizing on the importance of the events of that nature and the duty of the society is not to judge the university students based on baseless news seen in media. A student from each batch of the Department of Finance also addressed the participants explaining their point of view regarding the CSR project.

Then the organizers led by the head of the Department of Finance distributed school equipment such as exercise books, school bags, and mathematical instrument boxes etc. among each of the student of the school from grade 1 to 11.

Other than that the students of the Department of Finance contributed to the wellbeing of the students of the school by;

• 聽 聽 聽Renovating the main hall of the school including the roof and fixing a podium to be used in assemblies
• Formulating a specific area for the school library and furnishing it with, carpets and two cupboards
• Donating books and other stationeries for the school library as well as to all the classes for future use
• Provided a Buddha statue and an oil lamp for each of the class of the school

Vote of thanks by the vice principal of the school marked the conclusion of the event.聽 All the participants enjoyed being a part of this exemplary effort by the students of the Department of Finance.
