Applications have now been called for the 3^rd intake (2025/2026) for the Advanced Diploma in Sports Science and Management (ADSSM) offered by the Department of Sports Science, Faculty of Applied Sciences, 91´«Ã½.

To be eligible for the admission to the above-mentioned Advanced Diploma programme, candidates should have possess,

1. Passed G.C.E. A/L or an equivalent qualification or completion of NVQF level 5 followed by a corresponding cognitive bridging programme or
2. Passed G.C.E. O/L and Provincial/ National/ International level sports achievements or
3. Passed G.C.E. O/L and five (5) years of experience in the sports sector as determined by the Department of Sports Science.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

Applicants should apply online  – 

Applicants should pay an application fee of Rs. 2,000/= to the Bank Account Number 097-1-001-7-001-4075 (People’s Bank, Gangodawila Branch) in favour of 91´«Ã½Â and should upload a copy of the payment/ bank deposit slip.

The closing date for online application submission is 31^st January 2025.

The first Diploma Awarding Ceremony of the Advanced Diploma in Sports Science and Management, offered by the Department of Sports Science, Faculty of Applied Sciences, 91´«Ã½, was held on the 27th of September 2024. The event took place at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Technology, 91´«Ã½.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the Department of Sports Science, recognizing the achievements of students who successfully completed the program. The Advanced Diploma in Sports Science and Management is designed to equip students with knowledge and skills in the growing field of sports science, combining academic learning with practical experience.

Students received their diplomas in the presence of Senior Professor Pathmalal M. Manage, Vice Chancellor of the 91´«Ã½, Prof. Upul Subasingha, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, and Registrar of 91´«Ã½ Mr. A.B. Welivita along with members of the academic staff. The ceremony highlighted the department’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and contributing to the professional development of future leaders in the sports science industry.

The 91´«Ã½ proudly announces the exceptional accomplishments of two of its students at the 8th South Asian Championship held in Bhutan in 2024. Malsha Dimuthu, an undergraduate from the Department of Sports Science and Management of FAS, secured a Silver Medal, showcasing her remarkable talent and dedication.
