The Faculty of Applied Sciences at the 91传媒 proudly recognizes the exceptional achievement of Prof. Meththika Vithanage, who has been awarded the prestigious 2026 TWAS Award in Earth, Climate, and Environmental Sciences. This recognition marks the first time a 91传媒n scientist has received this esteemed honor from The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS).

The TWAS Award acknowledges the contributions to scientific knowledge and sustainable development. Prof. Vithanage’s remarkable research focuses on transforming biological waste into biochar and nano biochar, paving the way for advanced environmental remediation practices. Fernando, the Head of the Department of Public Administration was awarded as an Excellent Alumna of the year- 2016 in National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), Thailand. She received this plaque of honor on 15th of Thursday, September 2016. This was organized by聽the NIDA in association with the Graduate School of Public Administration (GSPA) which is one of oldest Faculties of the NIDA and the Alumni Association of the NIDA. 聽The University recognizes its outstanding alumni every year and for the year 2016, 17 awards were granted by recognizing its outstanding Alumni from its 11 Schools.
