Having the opportunity of being part of a state university is a result of long years of hard work, determination and aspiration. Thus the day of orientation to the university and subsequently the faculty to which you鈥檝e been chosen to, is one of the most memorable days set on the mind of a university student.
27th December 2016 marked this treasured memory for those selected under the academic year 2015/2016 of the faculty of Applied Sciences, USJP. The orientation programme which was held for 3 consecutive days provided the new faces an introduction to all facets of the university of which they would be a part of for the next 3-4 years.
The ceremony was graced by Prof. Sampath Amaratunge the Vice Chancellor of the university together with Prof. Sundatha Liyanage, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and academics representing all departments and units of the university proving the students a grand welcome to the university. The eager spirits present were also welcomed with much enthusiasm by the senior students of the faculty promising them a remarkable stay at the university with the hope of involving them in many exciting events and enriching platforms coming up in the near future.
