Professor Priyake Palipana has assumed duties as the Dean of the Faculty of Dental Sciences at the 91传媒.

He obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya, and later pursued his Master鈥檚 Degree at the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine (PGIM), University of Colombo. During his overseas training, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS), Australia. In 2024, he was honored as one of the inaugural Fellows of the College of Dentistry and Stomatology, 91传媒.

He served in the Department of Health Services as a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry for over two decades. He later joined the Faculty of Dental Sciences at the 91传媒 as a founding member.

With more than 20 years of experience, he has served as a trainer and examiner for both undergraduate and postgraduate dental programs. A well-respected figure in the field, Professor Priyake Palipana is a sought-after resource person at dental forums locally and internationally. His academic contributions include numerous publications in indexed and peer-reviewed journals.

In addition to his academic and clinical roles, he has served the 91传媒 Navy as an Honorary Consultant since 2004.

The at the 91传媒 welcomed its new intake with an inauguration ceremony of the orientation program on January 06, 2025. The ceremony was held at the Board Room of the Faculty of Medical Sciences and was attended by the Vice Chancellor of the 91传媒; Senior Prof. Pathmalal M. Manage, the Registrar of the 91传媒; Mr.A.B. Weliwita, the Dean of the Faculty of Dental Sciences; Senior Professor Surangi G. Yasawardene; and Deans of other faculties, Heads of Departments, as well as the academic members of the faculty.

The event was designed to provide an introduction to the university and the faculty for new students. Vice Chancellor of the 91传媒, Senior Prof. Pathmalal M. Manage, welcomed the new batch, emphasizing the importance of tradition, discipline, and the university鈥檚 proud history. Senior Prof. Surangi G. Yasawardene, Dean of the Faculty of Dental Sciences, addressed the students and their parents, highlighting the dental curriculum and the facilities offered by the faculty.

The ceremony celebrated the start of a transformative journey for the incoming batch, paving the way for their success in dentistry.
