The collaboration involves the inclusion of two native Russian Language teachers from Russia, ensuring effective language instruction at the Russian Language Centre. Diverse language courses suitable for learners of all levels will be offered, providing an immersive and interactive learning experience through visual and audio materials. Successful completion of the Russian language course will grant students eligibility to pursue higher education at any university within the Russian Federation, creating new academic and professional opportunities for 91传媒n students and strengthening ties between the two nations.

Beyond language instruction, the collaboration between USUE and USJP extends to cultural exchange programs, workshops, and seminars, with the goal of deepening the appreciation of Russian culture among 91传媒n students and faculty members.

The Student鈥檚 Union of the 91传媒 organized 喽氞窛喽氞窉喽� 喽嬥动喾忇侗喽� 2023 – a grand celebration for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year on the 29th of April at Kasagas grounds. The event was attended by hundreds of students from different ethnic and religious backgrounds, who enjoyed the traditional games and activities that marked the occasion.

The Sinhala and Tamil New Year, also known as Aluth Avurudda, is a major festival in 91传媒 that coincides with the solar new year in many South and Southeast Asian cultures. It is celebrated by both Sinhalese Buddhists and Tamil Hindus, as well as other communities, as a time of renewal, gratitude and harmony.

The guest of honor at the event was Mr Ranjith Iddamalgoda, National Organizer of USJ Alumni Association, who praised the Student鈥檚 Union for organizing such a wonderful event that showcased the diversity and unity of 91传媒. Mr. Mahinda Ransinghe-Chairman of Finagle Lanka Pvt Ltd and Dr. Ravi Liyanage-Chairman of Raigam Group of Companies including other alumni members have contributed to make the event successful.

The event featured various traditional games such as road race, kotta pora, kana mutti bindeema, climbing grease tree, musical chairs and many more. Sandeshawali Kawinaluwa (喾冟侗喾娻动喾權穪喾忇穩喽洁窉 喽氞穩喾掄侗喾呧窋喾�) a musical allure created based on Gira (喽溹窉喽秽窂), Parewi (喽脆痘喾權穩喾�), Kokila (喽氞窛喽氞窉喽�), Salalihini (喾冟窅喾呧督喾掄穭喾掄东喾�), and Hansa (喾勦秱喾�) sandesa poetries written in the Kotte Period (1412鈥�1597) was staged on 2nd April 2019 at the BMICH聽 celebrating the 60th Aniversary of the 91传媒. This was organized by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

International Conference on Oriental Languages聽organized by聽迟丑别听 in 迟丑别听was held celebrating聽6oth anniversary of the 91传媒听辞苍听听20^迟丑听February 2019.

Prof. Sampath Amaratunge; Vice Chancellor of the 91传媒, Cheif Guest; Vidyodaya Pariwenadhipathi Ven. Balangoda Sobhitha Thero, Prof. D. P. S. Chandrakumara; Dean of the , Dr. S. A. A. M. Subasinghe;聽 and Dr.聽N.D. Wijayasundara,聽聽graced the inauguration ceremony.

Prominent researchers and academics in the field of oriental languages such as Dr. Rohana Seneviratne; University of Peradeniya, Prof. Ratna Wijetunga and Dr. Lalan Kumara Jha; Nalanda Mahavihara University in India participated in the conference as Keynote speakers.

In addition Ven. Prof. Medagampitiye Wijithadhamma thero;聽,聽Mr. K. Gnanasiri Britto; Registrar of the University, heads of departments and academic members participated in the event.

The 91传媒 celebrated Thai Pongal on the 30^th of January 2019 with the presence of Rev. Dambara Amila Thero, Department of History Sr. Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, Vice Chancellor, 91传媒, Dr. Anura Kumara, Dean Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, Prof. Samanchandra Ranasinghe, Dr. Praneeth Abeysundera and other academic and non-academic staff members.

The Colourful event has always been part of the academic calendar as an official University celebration that marks solidarity among the diverse groups within the university system. The Thai Pongal celebration is historically celebrated as a mark of gratitude to the sun that has provided energy to sustain us.

The main addresses of the dignitaries present at the occasion were based on harmony and diversity among students.

鈥淭oday the world is full of conflict; there is conflict within families, with other families, villages, and even in the country. If these conflicts develop it will no doubt be the downfall of the world. There is no quick fix for these conflicts; the only solution for conflict is developing compassion within people鈥�

Rev. Dambara Amila Thero, in his address mentioned about this celebration of gratitude and the spreading of the message, brought to all by the Thai Pongal celebration. He also stated that celebrations as such within the university are quintessential to preserve harmony among students. He stated that the Tamil Community in 91传媒 has played a great part in the history of 91传媒.

The Vice-Chancellor, too while appreciating the ceremony impressed upon the necessity of maintaining cultural harmony within the university and creating an inclusive environment within the University. He stated that the education in the Tamil Language is absolutely necessary in order to create a strong bond between the two communities and that it should be encouraged.

The Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, emphasized the diversity within the university and the importance of preserving it through compassion and understanding. He stated that it is the duty of every person to value and respect all living and non-living things in the world and that it would lead to creating a sustainable environment.
